For a long time Lavinia's youngest daughter has been asking Lavinia to write her a story. She said it is only fair because Lavinia wrote Erin one.
All Kasey-Ray asked for was that the story contain snow - lots of it - and husky dogs. The rest of the story Lavinia could have free rein with.
At first Lavinia was unsure what name to give to the main character because the name Kasey-Ray was used as a character in the Erin the Fire Goddess series and Lavinia did not want her readers to get confused. But after doing some research she discovered that her readers were more than happy that Lavinia call the main character, in this new series, Kasey-Ray.
At the age of 14, Kasey-Ray Thompson lost her mother to cervical cancer. Her father, the one person she needed to be there for her, was spiralling into the depths of depression. Just when she thought her life couldn’t get any worse, he died a year later.
Left an orphan Kasey-Ray is whisked to a small town called Alimanti to live with a grandfather she has never met. There is snow everywhere and to make matters worse there is no electricity or phone signal.
Her grandfather has three rules:
* No boyfriends
* No going out after dark
* No going into the forest
The first book, Frozen in Time, is a very emotional one. It tells Kasey-Ray's story from the day her father dies and how she copes. It isn't all doom and gloom. Along the way Kasey-Ray learns so much about herself and her family.
There is a paranormal twist to this book that not all readers expect but end up loving.
